Legendary sprinter Usain Bolt suffered a severe injury during a charity football match.
At Stamford Bridge in London, celebrities and football stars gathered for a charity match organized by Unicef Soccer Aid.
"Torn Achilles, but we know we are warriors," wrote the Jamaican athlete on social media platform X.
Bolt was carried off the field on a stretcher, and his leg was immobilized in a special cast. It is likely that the Jamaican will need surgery, followed by a lengthy recovery period.
Notably, the charity match raised £15 million for Unicef. The England national team secured a 6:3 victory over the world's star-studded squad.
Bolt retired from professional athletics in 2017. He holds the world records in the 100 and 200 meters.
