Today, the Serbian national team triumphed over Australia with a 95-90 victory in overtime during the quarterfinal match of the basketball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
This match will undoubtedly go down in Olympic history, as Serbia achieved the largest comeback ever recorded in the tournament's history.
The first quarter ended with Australia leading 31-17, and during the second quarter, their advantage grew to 24 points at 46-22. However, Serbia managed to cut the deficit to 12 points by halftime.
In the end, Australia managed to send the game into overtime with just 1.4 seconds remaining on the clock, but ultimately fell to defeat in the extra period.
No team had ever overcome a 24-point deficit in an Olympic match before.
The most outstanding player for the Serbian team was the legendary Nikola Jokić, who recorded 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists.
