Legendary tennis player changes careers: Andy Murray to try his hand at acting
Andy Murray (37) is embarking on a new chapter of his life after retiring from tennis earlier this summer. The former tennis star will now entertain his fans on the theatrical stage, as reported by Dailymail.
The Scottish athlete will perform four theatre evenings in June 2025 in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, and Wimbledon. During these performances, Murray will reflect on key moments from his career and share behind-the-scenes stories from the world of tennis.
"After this summer, I wanted to try some different things. I don't think a tennis player has done anything like this before so it felt like a great challenge for me," said Murray.
The event will feature a strict no-photo and no-video policy—attendees will be required to leave their phones outside the venue. Murray explained this rule by stating that he wants to speak openly and honestly without the fear of someone recording and posting it online.
Murray is a two-time Wimbledon champion and a two-time Olympic gold medalist from 2012 and 2016. He ended his tennis career after the Paris Olympics due to a series of injuries.
