The first game-worn jerseys of NBA legends Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant will soon hit the auction block at Sotheby's, reports TMZ. Experts predict they could sell for up to $20 million!
The auction will feature Jordan's jersey from his debut NBA preseason game for the Chicago Bulls on October 5, 1984. The jersey is particularly valuable as it bears Michael's autograph.
Kobe Bryant's jersey, on the other hand, comes from his debut for the Lakers on November 3, 1996, during a regular-season game, when Kobe was just 18 years old.
"The historical significance of these two jerseys is hard to overestimate. They are as rare as it gets. Early rookie jerseys symbolize the dawn of an athlete's career. For collectors seeking truly unique treasures, this is a chance to own iconic pieces of basketball history," said Brahm Wachter, head of Sotheby's modern collectibles department.
It's noteworthy that Sotheby's has announced each game-worn jersey has been photo-matched and will be offered in two separate auctions starting March 21.
