This opinion was voiced by ex-Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente, who is confident that Torres’s coaching abilities will eventually land him in the Liverpool dugout:
“Will Fernando Torres one day become Liverpool's manager? Absolutely. He chose a different path than Cesc Fabregas, showing patience and opting to start with the youth team, gaining valuable experience along the way.
I believe Fernando will become a great coach because he had an incredible playing career, he knows so much about football, and he’s clearly been preparing himself for the right moment to make the step up.” Llorente stated.
Torres played for Liverpool from 2007 to 2011, making 142 appearances for the Reds, scoring 81 goals and providing 19 assists.
Currently, Torres is the head coach of Atletico Madrid's youth team, a position he took up in the summer of 2024. His team sits third in the table with 58 points after 33 rounds.
