Legendary David Luiz leaves Flamengo and becomes a free agent

Veteran Brazilian defender David Luiz is now officially a free agent.

Details. Flamengo, Luiz’s last club, has confirmed the departure of the star player. His contract with the club expires on December 31, and both parties have mutually decided not to extend the agreement.

The 37-year-old joined Flamengo in 2021. This season, the Brazilian played 36 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals.
