Legendary: David Beckham and Matt Damon star in Super Bowl commercial

Football icon David Beckham and Hollywood star Matt Damon have teamed up for a new commercial set to air during the Super Bowl halftime break on Sunday, The Sun reports.

The duo features in a 60-second Stella Artois beer ad, which tells the story of Beckham discovering that he has a long-lost brother in the U.S. Upon tracking him down, he finds that his “brother” is none other than Matt Damon. The two then bond over beers and chicken wings.

The commercial was directed by Damon’s longtime friend Ben Affleck.

Super Bowl halftime commercials are a prime opportunity for brands, with the event reaching an audience of over 100 million viewers in real time. According to 2020 statistics, 71% of Super Bowl viewers enjoy watching the commercials during the break.

This year’s Super Bowl will feature the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles. Beckham, whose children have grown up in the U.S., has embraced their love for American football and is eager to watch the big game.
