Legendary Italian footballer and former Juventus player Alessandro Del Piero is being considered as a potential candidate for the position of president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

Details: Del Piero may officially announce his candidacy as early as next week, presumably on Wednesday. The presidential elections will take place on February 3, 2025. It is still unknown whether the current president of FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, will seek re-election.

Reminder: The FIGC assembly includes representatives from Serie A, Serie B, Lega Pro, and Lega Nazionale Dilettanti clubs, as well as 52 athletes, 26 coaches, and nine members of the refereeing panel.

A total of 276 delegates will vote, and a candidate needs to secure at least 50 percent plus one vote to win.
