Novak Djokovic defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the men’s singles final of the Olympic tournament today. This victory marks Djokovic's first Olympic gold medal in his remarkable career.
On his fifth attempt, the legendary Serbian player achieved one of his greatest goals. He became the fifth player in history to complete the "Golden Slam," winning all four Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic gold in singles. Djokovic now joins Rafael Nadal, Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams in this prestigious achievement.
Additionally, Djokovic made history as the first tennis player to win all the major tournaments. The Serbian has triumphed at all the Masters events, Grand Slam tournaments, the ATP Finals, and the Olympic Games.
