Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush has run into unexpected legal trouble in England.

Details: According to Matchday Central, the 27-year-old Tottenham forward, whose contract rights are held by Manchester City, was found guilty by a British court of failing to insure his £250,000 McLaren sports car.

Teesside Magistrates’ Court heard the case against the footballer following a claim brought by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). The proceedings were triggered by his failure to pay a fixed penalty issued to the forward on June 17.

Under the judge’s ruling, the Egyptian must pay a £220 fine, £100 in court costs and an £88 victim surcharge.

Court documents state that DVLA representatives attempted to contact the player at his former apartment in Manchester, but the notices went unanswered, after which the case was referred to court.

It is worth noting that the rights to the 27-year-old Egypt international have been held by Manchester City since January 2025, while the footballer joined Tottenham on a season-long loan at the end of August 2026. The respected Transfermarkt portal values the player’s current market worth at €50 million.
