Leaving the Premier League. DR Congo national team star Arthur Masuaku to join Lens on loan
French side Lens are set to bolster their defense and continue their push for the league title. Sunderland's left-back Arthur Masuaku is expected to join the team on a six-month loan at the start of next week, according to L'Équipe.
The club's management and head coach Pierre Sage made the decision to sign the experienced Congolese international following a series of injuries and the departure of Deiver Machado to Nantes. Masuaku brings a wealth of professional experience and is no stranger to Ligue 1, having played for Valenciennes in the 2013/14 season.
Despite a recent injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations, the 32-year-old defender is ready to return to action soon. It's worth noting that Masuaku has made just four appearances for Sunderland this season.
