The Latvian Ice Hockey Federation has suspended the licenses of players who participated in the "Games of the Future" held in Russia.

On the federation's official website, it was announced that licenses are suspended for those players who attended the opening ceremony and took part in propaganda events.

"According to information regarding the participation of some Latvian hockey players in the 'Games of the Future' festival, which takes place in Russia, the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation has suspended the licenses of these hockey players," the statement said.

However, the Latvian federation has decided not to disclose the names of those who have been subjected to these sanctions.

It's worth noting that the National Hockey League (NHL), the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA), and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) have announced their plans regarding the participation of NHL players in the 2026 and 2030 Winter Olympic Games.

This decision marks a significant moment for world hockey and signifies the return of NHL players to the Olympic stage.
