The legend of Indian cricket and longtime Chennai Super Kings leader, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, is preparing to officially bid farewell to the professional game.

Details: According to insider Abhishek Malhotra from TIO Sports, the 44-year-old veteran will play his final IPL match at the iconic M. A. Chidambaram Stadium—better known as "Chepauk." The franchise management has already begun preparing for a grand and emotional farewell ceremony for the legendary captain.

This season has been extremely tough for "Thala." Due to a serious calf injury suffered during preseason training in March, Dhoni has not played a single game in the current IPL campaign, yielding the wicket-keeping role to Sanju Samson.

The "Chennai" bosses have decided to give millions of fans one "last dance" with their icon. The perfect moment for this will be the crucial home match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scheduled for Monday, May 18. As this is CSK's final home game of the group stage—and with the team’s playoff hopes hanging by a thread due to injuries—the management wants to send Dhoni onto the field in the yellow jersey for at least a few overs, so the entire stadium can pay tribute to the man who shaped the club’s history.

Reminder: Pandya could move to Delhi, while Patel heads to Mumbai.
