Details: Today, on the official page of Catalan club Barcelona on social network X, it was announced that the club has officially extended the contract of 24-year-old central defender Eric Garcia.

It is reported that the new agreement is valid until 2031.

"This decision demonstrates our faith in a player who grew up at La Masia and sets a great example for younger talents. His performances, maturity, and dedication have been decisive factors, further strengthening his bond with the club.

Previously, Barcelona president Joan Laporta stated that the agreement with Garcia would only be signed next week.

Eric Garcia joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2021 as a free agent. In the 2023/24 season, he played for Girona on loan before returning to Catalonia.

This season, Garcia has made 20 appearances for Barcelona, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His current contract runs until the summer of 2026, and according to Transfermarkt, his market value is estimated at 25 million euros.
