Laporta made a very unusual request to Flick on the eve of the match against Bayern
This Wednesday, October 23, Barcelona will face Bayern Munich in the third round of the Champions League. Ahead of the game, Barcelona president Joan Laporta made an unusual request to head coach Hansi Flick.
Details: According to Xavi Miguel, Laporta jokingly reminded Flick of the match when Bayern, under his guidance, humiliated Barcelona with an 8-2 victory in the quarterfinals of the 2019/20 Champions League.
Laporta quipped that Flick "owes the club" and asked him to replicate that scoreline — but in reverse this time.
It’s worth noting that Barcelona has historically struggled against Bayern. The Catalan side has lost six consecutive matches to the German giants and, in 15 total encounters, has been defeated 11 times.
Reminder: Both Bayern Munich and Barcelona have secured three points in their first two Champions League matches.
