Lamine Yamal says he feels no pressure or expectations
Lamine Yamal has become a true star and a leading figure at Barcelona, and naturally the pressure around him is growing. Yet, according to the player himself, he doesn’t feel it.
Details: In an interview with 60 Minutes, the Spaniard said everything depends on the individual — expectations included. Yamal admitted he simply plays football and doesn’t anticipate anything.
Quote: "I just think about the game and set no expectations for myself. I believe expectations are ultimately a bad thing. When you meet them, you may feel as if you no longer have goals, and when you don’t, you can feel disappointment," Yamal said.
This season, Lamine Yamal has played 14 matches across all competitions for Barcelona, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.
Reminder: Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick shared details of a brief exchange with Raphinha after the 3–1 win over Alavés. Moments after the final whistle, the Brazilian winger approached his visibly upset coach in an attempt to lift his spirits.
