Yamal reposted a publication from the 433 account announcing the Portuguese player's passing and added a broken heart and clenched fist emoji. Clearly, the news struck a deep emotional chord with the Spaniard, even though the two footballers were unlikely to have known each other personally.

Earlier today, reports emerged about the death of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota. These reports were later confirmed, prompting a wave of condolences from clubs and players around the world, mourning this terrible loss.

It is worth noting that Jota and his brother were involved in a horrific accident last night in Spain. Following the collision, their car caught fire, making it impossible to rescue the victims. Jota's brother also lost his life.

Diogo Jota had been playing for Liverpool since 2020, making 182 appearances for the club, scoring 65 goals and providing 26 assists during his time there.
