LAFC Eye Postecoglou as Cherundolo’s Successor

Los Angeles FC are considering former Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou as a potential replacement for outgoing manager Steve Cherundolo, BBC Sport reported Thursday. Cherundolo is set to depart at the end of the MLS season to return to Germany, where he spent his playing days.
Postecoglou was sacked by Spurs earlier this month, just 16 days after guiding them to a 1-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League final — Tottenham’s first major trophy in 17 years. Despite the European success, a dismal Premier League campaign saw the team finish 17th, prompting his dismissal and the arrival of Thomas Frank.
The Australian coach, who previously led Celtic and Yokohama F. Marinos, is also reportedly on the radar of Saudi champions Al Ahli, currently managed by Matthias Jaissle.
LAFC sit sixth in the Western Conference and are on track to reach the MLS playoffs. With the regular season ending in October, the club appears keen to secure an experienced manager to lead its next chapter.
