La Liga's top scorer has decided to leave Girona and move to Madrid after all

The top scorer of last season's La Liga, Artem Dovbyk, is likely to leave Girona during the current transfer window.
According to local insider Nil Sola, Dovbyk took a long time to consider whether he should leave, but eventually accepted Atletico's offer. The Ukrainian striker has already agreed on all the terms of the contract with the Madrid club.
However, negotiations between Atletico and Girona are still ongoing. The capital club hoped to lower the price for Dovbyk, but Girona will not sell him for less than the €40 million stipulated in his release clause.
In the Atletico squad, Dovbyk could replace Álvaro Morata, who moved to Milan this summer for €13 million.
In the recently concluded La Liga season, Dovbyk scored 24 goals, and Girona sensationally finished third, qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
