La Liga president Javier Tebas has once again found himself at the center of controversy following his remarks about the financial gap between men's and women's sports.

Details: According to Marca, speaking at the presentation of an economic report in Madrid, the head of Spanish football bluntly stated that equalizing the pay of male and female footballers will not be possible in the foreseeable future.

Tebas emphasized that salaries in the sports industry are directly tied to the revenue generated by each specific sector. To illustrate his point, he drew an unexpected parallel from the world of fashion:

"Achieving pay equality is impossible. It's like in the modeling business: male models earn less than female models," Tebas remarked bluntly, adding that economics set their own rules.

The La Liga president also stressed that discrimination should not be confused with market realities. In his view, the income gap is not a matter of gender but a matter of the industry's profitability. He cited the example that even within men's football, there is no equality: a right-back at Levante will never earn as much as a right-back at Real Madrid.

Recall: It has been revealed whether Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will be able to play against Atletico on Sunday.
