Barcelona has been allowed to register two players, Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. However, this decision has not been well received by the La Liga president, who is preparing sanctions.
Details: Speaking to Marca, Javier Tebas revealed that La Liga is filing a legal appeal against Barcelona regarding the registration of these two players. He also mentioned that the clubs complaining about the decision are justified.
Quote: "We are against their registration, and we are using the resources available to us within the appropriate agencies. Where we request not to register them, it’s logical. The clubs that have complained about the Olmo decision are right. If we, as a league, file appeals, it’s because we believe the decision was not made in accordance with the law, as it should have been," stated the La Liga president.
However, even if La Liga wins this appeal, previous results cannot be overturned. The reason lies in the fact that once a player has a valid license to play, match results cannot be challenged retroactively.
Reminder: Barcelona remains hopeful that Hansi Flick's squad will return to Spotify Camp Nou by May, meaning the El Clásico against Real Madrid could be played at their home stadium.
