Kun Khalifa FC have officially confirmed their return to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) action after holding successful talks with the league’s management board, bringing an end to their brief withdrawal from the 2025/26 season.

The Owerri-based club had earlier stepped away from the league in protest over what they described as unfair and excessive sanctions imposed by the NPFL authorities.

In an official statement released by the club, Kun Khalifa FC revealed that constructive discussions with the NPFL Board helped address the issues that led to their withdrawal. Following the talks, the club agreed to resume participation in the league.

“Kun Khalifa FC is pleased to announce its return to the Nigeria Premier Football League following positive discussions with the League Management Board,” the statement read. “The club had earlier withdrawn from the league due to concerns over unfair treatment and disproportionate sanctions.”
