Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo will continue playing for Manchester United and will not leave the club in January, despite earlier discussions about a potential loan move. Previously, Chelsea and Napoli were named among the possible destinations, but that scenario is no longer being considered.
Details: According to insider Fabrizio Romano, head coach Michael Carrick has complete trust in the young midfielder and sees him as a key player for the squad. The club is convinced that Mainoo can make an impact right now and is part of the coaching staff’s long-term plans.
It’s worth noting that this season Mainoo has featured in just fifteen matches for Manchester United across all competitions, registering a single assist — recorded in the EFL Cup match against Grimsby.
Reminder: Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola suffered his tenth defeat to Manchester United.
