Kobamelo Kodisang's agent talks about the player's challenges at Mamelodi Sundowns!

Football agent Mike Makaab has expressed concern over Kobamelo Kodisang’s lack of playing time at Mamelodi Sundowns, admitting that the player’s situation is becoming worrisome.
The 25-year-old winger made a much-anticipated move to Sundowns at the beginning of the 2024/25 season, signing a long-term deal from Portuguese side Moreirense FC. However, his debut campaign with the Brazilians has been far from smooth, as he has found it difficult to break into the starting lineup under both former coach Manqoba Mngqithi and current boss Miguel Cardoso.
Despite showing flashes of his potential, Kodisang has been limited to just 13 appearances across all competitions, registering two goals and two assists. His path to regular minutes has been further complicated by fierce competition in Sundowns’ attacking department, where he battles for a spot alongside the likes of Tashreeq Matthews, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Themba Zwane, and Thapelo Maseko.
Kodisang had hoped that a strong season at Sundowns would boost his chances of earning a recall to Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad. However, his limited opportunities have raised doubts about his future at the club.
Makaab, while acknowledging the strong form of Kodisang’s teammates, believes the talented forward deserves more chances to prove himself.
"We are concerned about Kobamelo’s lack of game time because he’s an exceptionally gifted player," Makaab told FARPost. "In our view, he hasn’t been given a fair opportunity to compete for his place, though we also recognize that the players ahead of him are performing well, and the team is succeeding."
"We’ll now assess the best possible options for his career moving forward. At his age and with his ability, he needs to be playing regularly," Makaab added.
The agent’s comments suggest that Kodisang’s future at Sundowns could be in question if his situation does not improve soon. Whether through increased opportunities at Chloorkop or a potential move elsewhere, the young attacker will be eager to reignite his career and stake his claim for a national team spot.
