Klopp announces his first squad as Germany head coach
Jürgen Klopp has turned his first Germany call-up into a full-scale audition.
Details: The German Football Association has officially confirmed Klopp's first squad as national team head coach. The 59-year-old has selected 44 different players and divided them into two groups for Germany's opening four UEFA Nations League matches. The first 24-man squad will face the Netherlands in Amsterdam on September 24 and Greece in Augsburg on September 27.
After the Greece game, most members of the opening squad will return to their clubs and 20 additional players will join the camp. The refreshed group will then host Serbia in Munich on October 1 before travelling to Thessaloniki for the return match against Greece on October 4.

Klopp has also opened the door to a large group of newcomers. Hennes Behrens, Max Rosenfelder, Philipp Treu, Yannik Engelhardt, Bambasé Conté and Younes Ebnoutalib are among the first-time selections in the opening group, while Finn Jeltsch, Felix Keidel, Vitaly Janelt, Mika Baur and Derry Scherhant are set to join later. Marc-André ter Stegen, Yann Aurel Bisseck, Josha Vagnoman, Serge Gnabry, Karim Adeyemi and Jonathan Burkardt are among the familiar names returning to the national-team setup. It is worth noting that goalkeeper Finn Dahmen appears in both published squads, which is why the two lists contain 45 squad places but only 44 different players.
