Not even Thibaut Courtois is safe from being kicked out of a WhatsApp group! The Real Madrid superstar has revealed an unexpected situation involving Belgium's national team, sparking fresh questions about his relationship with the Red Devils.
Details: Speaking to DAZN, the 34-year-old goalkeeper confirmed that he had been removed from the Belgian players' WhatsApp group. Courtois explained that the chat is mainly used to share practical information, including training schedules, and rarely contains many messages. His revelation comes after he decided to temporarily step away from international duty during the Nations League under new head coach Mark van Bommel.
Despite the unusual decision, Courtois played down any suggestion of a major conflict. He revealed that he remains in contact with several teammates and believes Belgium are progressing well under Van Bommel. The goalkeeper also clarified that he has never demanded an automatic starting position and would accept competition from Senne Lammens, Maarten Vandevoordt and Mike Penders.
The situation is particularly interesting given Courtois' complicated history with Belgium. After returning to the squad, the goalkeeper again requested a temporary break in September 2026, although he has not announced his international retirement.
