The main topic of discussion surrounding Napoli at the moment is the future of Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Negotiations for a contract extension with the player have been dragging on.
Napoli's sporting director Giovanni Manna hinted in a recent interview with DAZN that the club is prepared to consider selling the player next summer if the parties cannot agree on a new contract.
Quote. "We are in negotiations with Khvicha and his entourage. We made an offer in July and are continuing discussions now. We would not like to wait too long, as we want to focus on the current season and keep the player concentrated.
We expect the situation to clarify quickly; otherwise, we will wait until the end of the season when the player still has two years left on his contract and then make our own evaluations," added Manna.
Reminder. It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that representatives of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Napoli had difficult negotiations regarding a new contract, which can be described as "encouraging" based on preliminary assessments. The current contract of the Georgian winger with the Naples club runs until the summer of 2027.
