This summer, Kaizer Chiefs are planning a very active transfer window, aiming to bring in a range of new players. One of the names linked to the club is Ethan Chislett from Port Vale — a move that has raised concern among pundits and fans alike.
Details: Former Chiefs winger Junior Khanye is not convinced that signing Chislett is the right move, even though he admits he hasn't seen the player in action. Instead, Khanye believes Sipho Mbule would have been a more strategic addition to Nasreddine Nabi’s squad.
Quote: "I see the guy, and if I’m not mistaken, I think he was playing in the second or third division wherever he is coming from. In terms of South African football, it’s more of a Vodacom (ABC Motsepe) League level, from what I’ve been told. I don’t think it’s the right direction for Kaizer Chiefs to bring in this guy — although, to be fair to him, I can’t comment much because I haven’t seen him play. It’s very difficult to judge a player before you’ve seen him with your own eyes.
As for me, I don’t think this is the right direction for Chiefs, but it’s too early to judge without seeing what the guy can offer. What Pirates have done with the signing of Sipho Mbule — that’s what Chiefs should have done. Chiefs should have signed Mbule if they really wanted to compete in the Betway Premiership. Mbule would have made a huge difference for Chiefs," Khanye told Soccer Laduma.
