Key Fixtures and Storylines in the Betway Premiership Weekend Action
The Betway Premiership resumes this weekend with Kaizer Chiefs striving for back-to-back victories and Magesi FC determined to snap a frustrating winless streak.
Magesi FC kick off the action on Saturday at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, hosting AmaZulu FC. Despite a shock Carling Knockout final triumph in November, Magesi have since gone six games without a win. Under new coach Owen Da Gama, they’ll look to capitalize on AmaZulu’s recent struggles, including a 2-0 midweek loss to Sekhukhune United.
Saturday also sees Marumo Gallants take on Cape Town City at Dr. Molemela Stadium. City, rejuvenated under coach Muhsin Ertugral, aim for a third consecutive victory after defeating Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs in recent weeks.
Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows will play at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Sunday. Encouraged by a 2-1 comeback victory against Stellenbosch FC in the middle of the week, Chiefs will try to win back-to-back games for just the second time this season.
The weekend concludes with SuperSport United hosting Sekhukhune United at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Both teams are in fine form, with SuperSport unbeaten in three matches and Sekhukhune claiming 10 points from their last four outings.
