Midfielder Kevin Ortiz has officially joined Atlético Tucumán’s preseason camp in Buenos Aires, becoming the club’s third reinforcement ahead of the 2025 Clausura. As reported by La Gaceta, Ortiz arrives from Rosario Central and will bolster the defensive midfield under head coach Lucas Pusineri.
The 23-year-old debuted with Central in 2022 under Cristian “Kily” González and played a key role in their 2023 Copa de la Liga title run. However, his minutes dwindled in recent months due to the rise of Franco Ibarra and the arrival of Federico Navarro, prompting his move.
Ortiz joins a midfield group that includes Adrián Sánchez, Kevin López, and Guillermo Acosta. Left back Ignacio Galván has also joined the squad, which now consists of 29 players. Defender Maximiliano Villa is expected to report soon, while a potential return of Ignacio Maestro Puch was ruled out by club officials.
Atlético continues training at Independiente’s Villa Domínico facility, with friendlies scheduled against Lanús on Wednesday and Huracán on Saturday. Pusineri emphasized the importance of these matches for team cohesion, though he noted the strong winds in Buenos Aires have complicated some sessions.
