Kenya's Vincent Oburu Joins Richards Bay to Boost Relegation Fight
Kenya international winger Vincent Oburu has signed an 18-month contract with Richards Bay, joining from Zambian side Zesco United. The move comes as the KwaZulu-Natal team battles relegation in the Premier Soccer League, currently sitting 15th on the table.
Oburu, 27, previously played on loan at Napsa Stars and replaces Thabang Sibanyoni, who was on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
The winger's signing is anticipated to enhance Richards Bay's attack as the club looks to escape relegation. Oburu provides great experience as a full international for Kenya and had previously trialled at AmaZulu, but was not signed by the team.
The winger will be eligible to play in January when the transfer window opens, and he could make his debut against Marumo Gallants on January 4, depending on the approval of his South African work permit.
The addition of Oburu is seen as a key move to help Richards Bay stay in the top-flight league.
