Kelechi Nwakali Returns to Barnsley Squad After Year-Long Absence Following Relationship Break Down With Club Management

Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has made his return to the matchday squad of Barnsley FC, ending a lengthy spell away from first-team action that lasted almost a year.

The Nigerian international had fallen out of favour following reported disciplinary issues and a breakdown in his relationship with Barnsley’s management. The situation saw him sidelined for almost a year as tensions between both parties grew.

However, the 27-year-old midfielder was called to action in the second half of Barnsley's 1-0 defeat to Stevenage on Tuesday night.
