Karlo Kuranyi Joins Panama U-20 Camp, Eyes Maurice Revello Tournament Spot

Karlo Kuranyi, son of former German international Kevin Kuranyi, arrived in Panama this week with hopes of representing the country at the Maurice Revello Tournament, set to take place in France from June 3 to 15. The 19-year-old forward, currently on loan from VfB Stuttgart to FC 08 Villingen in Germany’s fourth tier, is in the process of acquiring Panamanian documentation to make his debut with the national team.
This season, Kuranyi has played 34 matches, starting 30 of them and scoring four goals while logging 1,230 minutes. Though still developing his scoring instincts, his physical profile—standing at 1.93 meters—and European experience offer intriguing upside.
“We’ve been in conversations with his father Kevin, and Karlo is handling the paperwork to be eligible for the squad,” said Panama U-20 head coach Jorge Dely Valdés in comments to Deportes RPC. Kuranyi joined training immediately upon arrival and has been working through set-piece drills and tactical sessions with the rest of the team.
He was one of two new arrivals this week, alongside Gustavo Herrera, who came from Austria after a trial with LASK Linz. While legal processes are finalized, Kuranyi remains fully committed to earning a spot on the roster, bringing both ambition and international pedigree to a promising Panamanian youth setup.
