Karl Toko Ekambi finds new home in Qatar

Having been a free agent since leaving Al Arabi SC, the 34-year-old Cameroonian striker has signed for a club in the Qatari second division.

Karl Toko Ekambi is starting a new chapter in his professional career. The Cameroonian international will continue to play in Qatar following his spell at Al Arabi SC.

The Cameroonian striker has joined Umm Salal SC, a club competing in the Qatari second division. He has signed a contract tying him to his new club until the end of the 2026–2027 season.

The Cameroonian will bring his experience to Umm Salal SC. Toko Ekambi, who has played for several European clubs including Villarreal, Lyon, Angers, Paris FC and Rennes during his career, is looking to relaunch his career in the Qatari league.

Playing for Al Arabi SC last season, Karl Toko Ekambi scored five goals in nine appearances in the Qatar Stars League. The Cameroonian could put this attacking prowess to good use for his new club in the second division.
