Karim Benzema wants to miss Al-Ittihad’s next match. What is the reason?
On Thursday, 29 January, Al-Ittihad will face Al-Fateh away from home in the 19th round of the Saudi Pro League, and one of the visitors’ key players may not feature.
Details: According to Ben Jacobs, striker Karim Benzema personally asked not to play in the upcoming match. The reason is that unproductive negotiations over a new contract have taken place between the player and Al-Ittihad. Benzema himself wants to sit out the game.
By the way, Inter Milan are working on signing Al-Ittihad winger Moussa Diaby. Inter could take the French winger on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy for around €35 million.
Reminder: This season Karim Benzema has played 21 matches for Al-Ittihad and scored 16 goals in that period. His team sits in sixth place with 30 points after 17 matches.
