Having resumed training with the squad, the captain of the Lions of Teranga feels ready for the tournament.

With the World Cup set to kick off on 11 June, Senegal have reason to be optimistic. Their indispensable defender, Kalidou Koulibaly whose fitness had been in doubt following a club injury a few weeks ago has made a full recovery.

The captain of the Senegalese national team reassured on RMC’s After Foot programme that he has recovered. He has not ruled out playing in next Tuesday’s international friendly against Saudi Arabia if manager Pape Thiaw decides to select him.

“I feel very good. We’ve handled things sensibly. We didn’t want to rush things. I’ve been back training with the squad for a few days now. We’ll see if I’ll play against Saudi Arabia in Tuesday’s friendly. It’s up to the coach to decide. The start of the competition is approaching.”
