South African Premier League club Kaizer Chiefs have extended the contract of midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo until June 2027. This decision came as a surprise to many, as the player was recently expected to leave the team on loan.

Ngcobo had a tough start to the season—an injury and difficulties adapting to the new coach's demands held him back. However, he managed to turn things around, proving his value to the club and once again becoming a key figure for the Amakhosi.

“Despite the challenges at the start of the season, the club sees Ngcobo as one of its main players. Although his current contract was set to expire in 2026, Kaizer Chiefs decided to activate the option to extend for one more season,” reports Soccer Laduma.

This means the player’s contract now runs until the summer of 2027. It demonstrates the club’s commitment to developing local talent and building the squad from its own academy.
