Kaizer Chiefs Revive Interest in Pyramids FC Star Fiston Mayele
As they rekindle their chase of Congolese attacker Fiston Mayele, who is now playing brilliantly for Egyptian powerhouse Pyramids FC, Kaizer Chiefs are once again in the news. The South African team seems committed to expanding its offensive options as the new season draws near, and Mayele is still at the top of their want list.
Egyptian League Target Identified
Reports suggest that Amakhosi have made fresh contact with Pyramids FC regarding Mayele, who has been in impressive form both in the Egyptian Premier League and on the continental stage. The 30-year-old striker’s current contract expires in June 2026, prompting speculation over his future.
Rejected Offer, But Negotiations Continue
According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs recently tabled an offer worth €14 million, which was turned down by the Egyptian club. However, with only one year remaining on Mayele’s contract, Pyramids may be open to negotiating a deal to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
“It’s apparently in the range between R12 million to R15 million, and you know Chiefs’ last offer was around R14 million,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Long-Standing Interest
This is not the first time Chiefs have pursued the Congolese forward. Reports indicate their interest dates back to 2024, showing a long-term desire to land the powerful striker.
With financial flexibility and renewed intent, Kaizer Chiefs could finally land their man — if the price is right.
