Kaizer Chiefs may sign a player from the Swedish vice-champions’ camp!

This summer off-season promises plenty of squad shake-ups for Kaizer Chiefs, and the Amakhosi aren’t shying away from recruiting talent even from some of Europe’s stronger football leagues.
Details: According to iDiski Times, South African U17 international and Hammarby IF youth midfielder Steven Mendes is eyeing a return to the Naturena-based club. Mendes joined the academy of Hammarby, who finished second in last season’s Swedish Allsvenskan (which runs on a spring-to-autumn schedule), just last year.
Although Mendes enjoyed his Scandinavian experience and has already adapted to life there, he has returned to South Africa and is now looking to rejoin Kaizer Chiefs. Upon his return, Mendes is expected to link up with the club’s DStv Diski Challenge team, which recently clinched its first-ever title since the reserve league’s inception.
Reminder: Earlier reports stated that Kaizer Chiefs have signed a pre-contract agreement with Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng.
