Canadian striker Jonathan David, whose career in Italy’s Serie A has been far from stellar, could finally make the jump to the English Premier League this summer.
Details: According to TEAMtalk, Juventus management has concluded that the team’s attack needs a major overhaul and has given the green light for the 26-year-old forward to leave on loan.
Last summer, David joined the Bianconeri as a free agent following a brilliant spell at French side Lille, signing a long-term five-year contract. But his debut season in Turin turned out to be a major disappointment: instead of becoming the team’s key striker, the Canadian managed a modest six goals in 34 matches across all competitions.
As a result, intermediaries representing the player have started to actively explore opportunities in England. Reports indicate that contact has already been made with Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
In addition, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Leeds United have also been notified of the player’s availability. Jonathan himself, who boasts an impressive 154 career goals, is highly enthusiastic about the prospect of moving to the Premier League, believing the EPL’s style is a perfect fit for his resurgence.
Reminder: Barcelona have set their sights on Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso.
