Lazio, Juventus, and Italy national team icon Angelo Peruzzi, who ended his playing career in 2007, is enjoying a peaceful life in retirement. In an interview with Il Messaggero, the former goalkeeper revealed that he prefers to stay away from modern society, choosing to live in nature instead.

Peruzzi admitted that he rarely watches football anymore, as he finds the modern game less interesting. He currently resides in his hometown of Blera, where he enjoys the outdoors and coaches young players.

One of his favorite moments of the day, he shared, is waking up in the morning and taking a walk through the forest.

Peruzzi was part of Italy’s 2006 World Cup-winning squad. He also won the 1996 Champions League, the 1993 UEFA Cup, and three Serie A titles with Juventus.

At the start of his career, Peruzzi played for Roma, where he was suspended for a year in October 1990 for doping. The former goalkeeper later admitted that, due to his youth and inexperience, he mistakenly took a substance without knowing it was banned.
