Juventus has agreed on the transfer of Porto's young star
Juventus has agreed to the transfer of Francisco Conceição from Porto. This is the second transfer completed by the Turin club today, following an agreement with Fiorentina for the signing of Argentine winger Nico González.
According to Calciomercato.com, the deal for Francisco Conceição will be a straight loan, costing the Bianconeri €7 million for the season, with additional bonuses up to €2 million. The 21-year-old player was not included in Vítor Bruno's squad for the match against Santa Clara in the Portuguese league on Friday evening, although his team still secured a 2-0 away victory. Notably, according to Fabrizio Romano, Juventus will not have a purchase option for the player at the end of the loan term.
The former Ajax player scored five goals in 27 matches in Portugal last season and was part of the Portuguese national team under Roberto Martínez, which reached the quarterfinals of EURO 2024. Conceição also scored the decisive goal in his country's first match of the tournament, netting in the 91st minute to secure a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic.
This transfer will be good news for Thiago Motta, who has been looking to strengthen his wide attacking options this summer. It also means that Juventus is unlikely to pursue further interest in Jadon Sancho from Manchester United, whom the club had been considering during this transfer window.
