Justine Madugu Explains Asisat Oshoala’s Absence from Super Falcons Squad for Cameroon Friendlies
Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has shed light on his decision to leave out prolific striker Asisat Oshoala from the squad for the upcoming international friendlies against the Cameroon women's national football team.
Madugu recently unveiled a 25-player roster for the highly anticipated double-header against Nigeria’s long-time rivals, but Oshoala’s name was notably missing from the list. The omission immediately sparked reactions, given her status as one of Africa’s most decorated female footballers and a key figure in the national team.
Addressing the decision in an exclusive chat with CompleteSports, Madugu made it clear that the move was part of a broader plan to strengthen the squad by giving opportunities to other players.
“It’s a friendly match, and it’s important we give others opportunity to show what they can do,” Madugu said in an exclusive chat with Completesports.com.
“We all want the best for the country. We know what she (Oshoala ) can offer, so the two friendlies is an opportunity for us to see others too. It’s chance for us to see new things.
