Just In: Augustine Eguavoen Appointed Interim Super Falcons Coach Ahead of Olympic Qualifiers
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed former Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen as the interim head coach of the Super Falcons.
Eguavoen will take charge of the Nigerian women’s national team for their upcoming 2028 Olympic Games qualifying matches against Comoros, with the NFF still working to appoint a permanent head coach.
The former Nigeria international has plenty of experience with the national team. He previously led the Super Eagles to a bronze medal at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations and has also served as interim coach on other occasions.
Eguavoen will be assisted by Nasarawa Amazons head coach Christopher Danjuma, while former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa joins the coaching staff as the goalkeeper trainer.
Former Super Falcons defender Ayisat Yusuf has also been appointed as an assistant coach as Nigeria prepares for the Olympic qualifying campaign.
