Spanish media outlets have been buzzing with speculation about a strained relationship between Cristiano Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, and his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez. According to Mundo Deportivo, the two women are notably not following each other on Instagram, and Rodríguez recently liked a rather controversial video that some believe was aimed at Dolores.

The video in question is a clip from a movie showing a woman tumbling down a hill, captioned: “Mothers-in-law every three months when they don’t get attention from their son.” Many interpreted this as a subtle dig at her mother-in-law.

This isn’t the first time rumors have surfaced about tension between Rodríguez and Dolores. In her Netflix documentary I Am Georgina, Rodríguez made a remark to Cristiano Jr., stating that she would never become an overbearing mother-in-law. At the time, many believed it was a thinly veiled reference to Aveiro and her close relationship with Ronaldo.

Both women have publicly denied any rift, but Rodríguez’s social media activity continues to fuel speculation that their relationship may not be as harmonious as they claim.
