Julian Nagelsmann Comments on Packed Football Schedule
Recently, numerous footballers have voiced concerns about the demanding schedule. Ahead of the UEFA Nations League matches in November, Julian Nagelsmann also weighed in on the issue.
Details: The coach acknowledged that the intense schedule increases the risk of injuries but emphasized that the football industry and the earnings of players and coaches depend on this model.
Quote: "The games are packed into a short period. Injuries can always happen. Ultimately, the football industry thrives on a certain financial structure. With substantial marketing comes the salaries we currently receive. It's hard for me to complain about having too many games," Nagelsmann stated.
Reminder: UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin recently addressed criticism of the congested schedule, stating that the only alternative to the high number of matches would be reduced salaries.
Recently, Ballon d'Or 2024 winner Rodri hinted that players might consider a strike due to excessive workloads. FIFA and UEFA face the most criticism for the Champions League reform and the revamped Club World Cup.
