Ben Davison, Anthony Joshua's coach, revealed that they are preparing for the bout against former UFC superstar Francis Ngannou as if the Cameroonian is a world-class opponent.

"Ngannou is still a fighter. Perhaps a novice boxer, but that doesn't negate the fact that he's a fighter of elite caliber. He's had plenty of fights, and he's competed at the highest level of boxing, so we're treating this as a serious threat, which he indeed is.

For some reason, people say Ngannou hasn't proven himself. He's had fights where he became a heavyweight world champion, where fighters could do a bit more than just throw punches. Then he had a boxing match at the world level, yet people still don't consider him a world-class boxer, although many believe the fight was very close. We should consider him a world-class boxer, at least we do," said Davison.

The Joshua vs. Ngannou fight is scheduled for Friday, March 8.

Earlier, Joshua commented on the cancellation of the fight with Wilder.
