Fenerbahce's head coach, Jose Mourinho, broke his silence regarding the racism accusation scandal. The Portuguese manager spoke about the incident during an interview with Sky Sports.

Mourinho denied any wrongdoing, claiming that his comments during the match against Galatasaray were not racist. It should be recalled that the Turkish club filed a complaint against the Portuguese manager after Jose criticized Galatasaray's bench during the match against Fenerbahce. Mourinho remarked at the time that their opponents were jumping like monkeys while disputing the referee's decisions, which was deemed a racist statement.

"Everyone knows who I am as a person. Everyone knows my bad qualities, but this is not one of them. Quite the opposite! The most important thing is that I know who I am, and the attack with accusations of racism was a poor choice," Mourinho stated.

It's worth noting that former Chelsea players Didier Drogba and Michael Essien defended the Portuguese manager, stating that Jose has never been a racist.

Additionally, for his remarks, Mourinho received a 4-match suspension and a fine of £35,000. However, after an appeal, the punishment was reduced to 2 matches and a £12,200 fine.
