Jorthy Mokio Chooses DR Congo Over Belgium After International Decision

Ajax youngster Jorthy Mokio has officially committed his international future to the Democratic Republic of Congo, turning down the opportunity to represent Belgium’s senior national team.

The 18-year-old midfielder confirmed his decision in an interview with Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf on Friday, revealing that the choice came after careful consideration between both countries.

“Once I realized I was hesitating between Congo and Belgium, everything moved quickly,” Mokio said. “I had several discussions and finally made my decision. I chose to follow my heart and make myself available for Congo. I hope to play for them soon.”
