Jonatan Gómez Parts Ways with Rosario Central as Midfield Changes Loom

Jonatan Gómez has officially ended his time at Rosario Central after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. As reported by TyC Sports, the midfielder’s limited playing time prompted the decision, signaling the beginning of a reshuffle in Central’s midfield ahead of the second half of the season.
Gómez, a native of Capitán Bermúdez, logged just 66 minutes across three appearances in the Apertura tournament. The emergence of Federico Navarro alongside Franco Ibarra in central midfield left the veteran on the sidelines in Ariel Holan’s plans.
His departure may not be the last. Both Kevin Ortiz—who recently reached 100 appearances for the club—and Augusto Solari are potential exits during the upcoming transfer window. The Rosario-based club is preparing for further squad adjustments as they plan for the next campaign.
On a brighter note, forward Agustín Módica has recovered from a ligament injury sustained last August and will be available for preseason training. However, experienced defender Carlos Quintana suffered a minor ligament issue in his right knee and will miss the start of preseason, though he’s expected to return in time for Central’s Copa Argentina match against Unión on June 26.
